Been away on a long strange trip...
Not really. Just really lazy and haven't written anything. A lot has happened recently. The DC Comedy Fest has come and gone. I really enjoyed it. I love seeing the different troupes, the different types of shows, performing and being a part of this growing DC comedy community. So much talent in the area, its incredible. Dr. Fantastic has 2 more shows left in the WIT run at Flashpoint and then we are off to Chicago on the 29th of April to perform in the 9th annual Chicago Improv Festival. Really excited about this, first time there. Looking forward. Also TOOLs newest release comes out on May 2. The single is out April 17th apparently. This is my favorite band of all time and I can't wait to see what they are going to put out there. I started going through a fan site at toolshed.down.net and learned so much more about the band and the music than I ever imagined. I am no relistening to most of their stuff because before I didn't understand the meaning or the concepts. I love a band that has a concept and theme to their album instead of a title with tracks with cool names and then no real context in the music. Its boring and plain. Tool escapes this for me. I am starting to get into teaching improv. Very new to me but also very fun. I want to try and become a part of a newer performance improv venture in DC this year and I think I am finding that with many of my standup comedy friends. So gifted in comedic timing already, they seem to fit the mold beautifully. I am off to NYC next Thursday to perform at Stand Up New York. Hopefully this audition will go well and I will have bigger and better news to report. As for now I'll be at the University of Maryland on Monday performing in the Tickle Festival. I am doing improv with "The Bureau" in the late afternoon and then opening for Daniel Tosh on the 9pm headlining show. Daniel Tosh is a great comic, you should see the show and try to touch him, even when he says no, you try your hardest to get just a small moment with him. Ryan and Danny will also be on this 9pm show, they are beautiful men with great smiles and fantastic smells. April 25th come out to Wonderland Ballroom. Myself and Jon Mumma with the assistance of George P. Gordon III have assembled a free standup comedy showcase for all you great DC citizens. It is going to be heeeeeeeelariiiiiusss. Come check it out. More details on that soon. Later.
