The Awesome Award

If you don't know Jon and Amy Mumma, you need to get to know them. They are awesome people and a lot of fun. Jon is the kind of comic that gives off so much energy and he is actually totally unaware of it. He makes it exciting to get an idea and tell him about it because he will tell you why he loves the idea, no matter how stupid the idea is. Actually maybe Jon is just a nice guy, because I have thrown some shitty ideas at him just to see how he would react and everytime he said "i absolutely love it" and then he would go down on me. Last night was another Wednesday at Dremos. Probably the best open mic in DC based strictly on attendance not on quality of show. In fact I have seen some absolutely awful shows at Dremos but still there are consistently 60-80 people there every Wednesday. Usually Jon and Amy are there to hang out in the back of the club. Last night they weren't and Jay Hastings and myself decided something was missing. I looked at Jay and said "something is missing from this show tonight, it feels weird." Jay looked at me and said "I know exactly what you mean," and then he went down on me. Amy gets the awesome award moreso than Jon because she actually puts up with Jon and all of his friend's absolutely absurd behavior. She doesn't mind us coming over to their apartment, completely invading their personal space just to hang out, act stupid, be loud and go through their stuff. I am always taking food from their fridge and random photos from their photo albums. I actually asked Amy one time to be honest and tell us how much she hated us coming over and annoying the hell out of her. She looked me dead in the eyes and said "Rory, I will never ever go down on you." I am so sorry for this blog entry. Jon and Amy Mumma are awesome.
